ASUS ZenBook Flip 14 – World’s Thinnest 2-in-1 Laptop

The “World’s thinnest 2-in-1 laptop”, according to Asus, is about to release by the end of this year. It’s an extraordinary laptop on which you could actually do whatever you want. It’s really powerful and light so it is perfect to carry around the office or your home.

You could work on it, play games or just relax while doing things you enjoy on it, and Asus takes care that everything you perform on it will happen quickly because of the Intel Core i7-8550U processor inside, backed up by NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. The design is fabulous and lets you detach the “display” part and use it as a tablet, that has an incredibly responsive touchscreen, or just flip it with no need to detach because the hinges are designed for maximum flexibility and ease.

Design

The display is 14″ big and has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, ultra thin and has the well know Asus logo on the bottom line. The screen’s frame is really small. In fact, the frame is comparable in size to many 13-inch laptops. With the amazing NanoEdge display — featuring 178° wide-view technology, 100% sRGB color gamut, exclusive ASUS Splendid with ASUS Eye Care technology, and ASUS Tru2Life Video technology — every visual task is easier, and entertainment is more awesome. Even when you’re outdoors, ASUS TruVivid technology improves contrast and reduces reflections to ensure that the picture is always great.

Moving onto the back, I have to admit that I really like the all-aluminum lid with a spun-metal finish that adds a unique touch of luxury, and you can choose from two sophisticated colors: Icicle Gold and Slate Grey. This elegantly designed laptop makes it look and feel incredibly comfortable to work on. Its keyboard reminds me of Sony Vaio series, because of the smoothness of the surface and the LED lighting underneath, which is a perfect feature if you use it at night with the lights turned off.
The innovative “ErgoLift” hinge mechanism helps the 360-degree versatility and holds the display securely at any angle, and has 20,000 cycles life.

Specs and performance

The performance as described by Asus is “Beyond boundaries”. It is a laptop that is built to be ready for work anywhere with you and runs up as quickly as possible to respond on time to your given commands. On the inside, it hides the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor, high-performance NVIDIA GeForce MX150 discrete graphics, 16GB RAM and an ultrafast 512GB PCIe SSD. With its discrete graphics, you can enjoy the experience of playing the latest games available, creatively use power-requiring software for art design or engineering, movies at the best resolution possible and whatever actually comes to your mind.

This ZenBook Flip operates on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) and could work for a really long time, without the charger plugged in because of the 57Wh lithium-polymer battery. To empty the battery you’d need 13 hours and to charge it то 60%, you’d need only 50minutes, which is amazing, time-saving and really practical.

If you want to share information you could use a built-in Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which is more reliable and 6X faster* than the previous generation of Wi-Fi. And with exclusive ASUS software, you can create your own personal data cloud for fast, secure and convenient access to all of your files, wherever they’re stored. Another important and impressive feature is the touchpad. Asus improved the security of this laptop by adding a fingerprint touchpad, or the so-called Windows Hello technology, which only you could use to unlock it with no additional passwords needed.

Aside from the fact that the display is 10-finger multi-touch, Asus added an ASUS Pen, that has a natural-feeling active stylus that can detect an amazing 1,024 pressure levels. Didn’t I tell you that it’ll float along with your creative stream and has everything you need?

Тhe release date and price are still unknown about this product. It is expected to release later this year, so you could follow the manufacturer’s website for more details and additional information about the ZenBook Flip 14.
