BlackBerry Motion – Release Date And Information

The Blackberry company has taken a revolutionary part of how keyboards are being made. We can rarely see a keyboard feature on a new and touch-screen phone nowadays, but we did saw it not long ago on the KeyOne model, which will be similar in terms of looks to the highly awaited “Motion” model, that is about to drop sometime this month.

It is an incredibly good phone, with perfect hardware components and visual looks. The way how the sides are designed, remind me not only of the KeyOne but of the Apple’s iPhone 4, which is also my all-time favorite iPhone model. It has everything that a premium-quality phone needs – good looks, good performance, perfect display and water/dust protection. The Android using phone lacks only internal storage capacity but there are ways to store data outside the internal storage, which we’ll get into in a minute.

Design

I really mean it, when I say that it is a copy of the KeyOne that only lacks a keyboard and is slightly bigger. The phone is really ergonomic and weighs 158g and has the size of 155.7 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm. On the front, it has a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution that also supports multitouch.BlackBerry has given the screen a nano-diamond coating which claims to prevent scratches, while the main body has an aluminum frame and a soft textured rear panel to provide extra grip.

It lacks buttons on the front, except the home one in the middle right under the screen. Like most phones out there it has buttons only on the sides that are used for power, volume and lock/unlock.

There’s also the carbon fiber pattern on the back, with the camera positioned at the upper left corner and the iconic Blackberry logo right in the middle of the back carboned panel. I really love the idea of the thin bezels that are used as a frame of the display – this combined with the black motive of the phone, gives the chills of high capability and futuristic performance.

The engineers were not only aiming at the high durability of the phone but of the user’s privacy as well. I really love the fact that they created a zone, where you can lock away photos, private messages and confidential documents in a secure zone, that you access only with the fingerprint button. If you are wondering where is that fingerprint button, well like most phones nowadays it’s hidden in the home button on the front, which is its hidden ability. That’s not all – it also has a privacy feature, so you can prevent people around you from seeing private and sensitive content on your screen, by highlighting only the area that you want to inspect and blur the rest, that’s out of the “radar”.

Performance and specs

The performance is optimized to the fullest, so the phone can be with you and have your back at anything that you perform on it. The Octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor is not the most powerful out there but its powerful enough to deliver the user what he exactly needs, as well as the Adreno 506 GPU. The internal storage is one of the biggest flaws because there will be only a 32GB version but the company found a solution to this problem by adding a micro SD slot, that can add up to 256GB of storage for your favorite moments.

The RAM storage is also coming at only one version that supports 4GB of it. The phone could be charged up easily up to 50% for less than 40 minutes and will serve up to 32 hours of usage. That’s due to the powerful and non-removable 4000 mA,  4.4V lithium-ion battery and it uses a standard USB port for charging.

On the software front, it’s very much the same as the BlackBerry we’ve now come to expect. It features a customised version of Android 7.1 Nougat but retains BlackBerry’s own security apps and features that continue to make the phones so popular. BlackBerry’s Convenience Key feature makes a return and can now be used to activate one of four different profiles: Home, Car, Office or User. Home can be activated when the Motion connects to your home Wi-Fi network, Car will be enabled when it connects to your car’s Bluetooth and Office will activate when it recognizes you’re in the location of a meeting synced with BlackBerry Hub.

Camera and price

The 12-megapixel rear camera has phase detect autofocus, electronic image stabilization, and HDR capabilities and can shoot 4K video at 30fps. There’s a dual-tone LED flash on the back too, while on the front you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera with 84-degree wide-angle lens and light-up LCD flash. It is surely a camera that’ll serve you great at taking pictures anytime. It has modes that you can choose from, to make the best photo possible, and it adds to the sophisticated and professional design and work of the camera.

The front camera is perfect for selfies and 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps with multi-frame low light enhancement and wide selfie mode, or also known as a selfies panorama. Both cameras save the files at almost any type of image or video format out there, so you can feel free to record what you like or love.

The price of the device is set at $600, and could be found on Bell, Koodoo, TELUS or SaskTel and will soon release in other countries. Check the manufacturer’ s website for additional information about the hardware, features or shipping of the BlackBerry Motion 2017.
