Apple MacBook Air – Back In 2017

Earlier this year, the MacBook by Apple got refreshed, with upgrades made in terms of both performance and slightly in design. Apple has tweaked the processor speed with its 2017 update to its MacBook Air, but it remains an affordable, lightweight, compact laptop, that’ll be perfect for people who happen to move a lot and search for a platform that they could work on-the-go.

The leap in the processor update is not that big, offering improvement from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz on the 13-inch version. It’s created to deal with easy tasks and would not be good for gaming – just educational, work and study related work and light software. It is available in only one silver color, which looks beautiful and clean, and underwent minor changes since the very release of the product back in 2010.

Design

Considering just the weight, makes the laptop greatly designed, not having to mention the rest of the beautifully created and engineered aspects. The exact dimensions of the laptop are 1.7/32.5/22.7 sm with the weight of just 1.35kg. The design is almost the same as the 2015 version, with minor changes made. The keyboard feels incredibly smooth and your fingers literally feel like hovering above it. The 13.3-inch, LED-backlit, glossy widescreen display looks great with the silver bezel frame on both sides, making the front look of the laptop really clean and sophisticated at the same time.

There’s not much you can see on the back side of the laptop, except the iconic Apple logo in the middle. On the thin sides, there are different ports – SDXC card, USB 3 and Thunderbolt 2 are located on the right side, while MagSafe 2, USB 3, headphone/audio jack and a set of dual mics are located on the left side.

Hardware

In terms of hardware, this MacBook Air is slightly tweaked from the last time it has been updated. It has a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, that could be Turbo-Boosted up to 2.9GHz, with 3MB shared L3 cache. If you want to enhance it by your preferences, you could configure it to 2.2GHz dual-core Intel Core i7,  with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz and 4MB shared L3 cache.

The internal storage is not that much but is upgradable as well. It comes in 128GB and 256GB version, both upgradable to 512GB for not more than $200. If you’re planning to store music, movies or other kind of files on it – I’d recommend you upgrade the internal storage, so that you don’t experience system lag in time. If you are a person who’s mostly browsing the net, then you’d like the 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless networking, due to its quickness and responsiveness.

Video and graphics quality are assured by the Intel HD Graphics 6000, that are capable of producing 4K quality videos at the best level, combined with the well-known and high-quality display. It actually simultaneously supports a full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 3840-by-2160 resolution at 60Hz on an external display, both in millions of colors.

Screen

The MacBook Air’s screen is a 13.3in (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen display with a resolution of 1,440-x-900 pixels and a pixel density of roughly 128ppi (pixels per inch). It’s not as good as the Retina display featured in the MacBook Pro but still works, looks and presents more than perfect. The Air screen, however, does use less power and therefore contributes to the lower overall cost.

It is a combination of perfect presentation, long-time durability, and quality materials used is more than perfect for the offered price. You’ll surely adore the offered 4K quality presentation, combined with this 13.3″ display, no matter that it’s not as big as other flagship laptops

Battery life and price

Thanks to compact SSD storage in MacBook Air, there’s plenty of room for a big battery. Working together with the power-efficient fifth-generation Intel Core architecture, this battery can post some impressive numbers. MacBook Air gets up to 12 hours of battery life on a single charge. That gives you all-day power for surfing the web or watching iTunes movies. Put MacBook Air to sleep for more than 3 hours, and it enters standby mode to conserve battery life for up to 30 days.

The price for the generic 128GB internal storage version is 999$ and $1199 for the 256GB version. It will be best for you if you spent extra $200 for upgrading it to the fullest – 512GB internal storage, for stocking all of your important information, files, and valuable memories.
