ACER ChromeBook Spin 11 (R751TN-C5P3) – The Work And Study Assistant

Since most laptops nowadays are created for gaming or just browsing in our free time, there’s not that much variety of platforms that help us with the process of work or study. That’s the idea of Acer behind their newest product – the ChromeBook spin 11. It’s perfect for students who’d like to carry it around the classroom or for adults who happen to move a lot in the office and need a constant assistant that helps them get their job done.

You can carry it around having no fears that you can damage it because it’s incredibly resistant to knocks or spills and will most definitely achieve longevity. It is not created to be powerful but to support you in any activity related to studies or work duties. The dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 is clocked at 1.1GHz so it won’t offer you too much but will be capable of starting any software you need. It is purposely not able to run powerful games so that the desire to play won’t distract you from what you have to do.

Design

The design is pretty good in terms of durability and support but there are definitely better-looking laptops on the market but again – that’s not its mission. It is fairly thick but that’s due to all of the protections it has. To start off, it has an impact resistant body, which basically means that it could take hits and won’t happen to easily scratch, break or dismantle. On the front, it has a 11.6″ display with 10-point multi-touch and a thick bezel around it.The ACER logo is also featured on the bottom lid right under the display.

Moving down from the display you can see the 360-degree hinges that let you flip it if you have to draw or design something on it and need a steady surface. The hinges have a metallic silver shining surface that contrasts to the pitch black background. The keyboard feels incredibly nice and smooth and the keys are tamper-proof and recessed so that it could prevent picky fingers from digging it up.Acer included channels under the keyboard capable of handling up to 11 ounces of liquid spilled on it. The channels are designed to let the liquid drain, without causing any harm to the laptop itself. The touchpad is also big and supportive and the surface that covers it all is rubber-like and resting your arms on it feels better than anything. What I don’t like is that it looks like a military laptop for launching ballistic missiles.Performance and display

I strongly support the idea of its creation and agree that it should be added as a tool used in schools because it opens up a whole new world and way of studying and I love that it could not launch powerful games so it won’t distract the ones who use it. It packs a 1.1GHz Intel Celeron processor and has 32GB internal storage with 4GB DDR4  RAM. The graphics are also powered by Intel and are shared LPDDR4 HD Graphics 500 that presents the picture on an HD LCD 11.6″ display with 1366 x 768-pixel resolution. The ability of the hinges really opens up countless a variety of activities that you can perform on it. They are 360-degree flipping, so you can use your laptop as a tablet as well. This is why a “touch pen” comes with the package – you can use it for drawing, designing or just interaction with no keys needed. It is a great idea because if it has an educational purpose, it should have its weak spots strengthen and this design of the hinges is a really helpful solution that has been perfectly turned into a feature and advantage at the same time.It is powered by a 2-cell Li-ion battery and has both wireless and Bluetooth 4.2 connection. The software that operates it all is Chrome OS. It is a nice idea and the price for this product is $399 and you can find more information about it, or about the shipping on its product page on Acer’s website
