Dayton Audio MK402 – Cheap And Efficient Speakers

It’s 2018 and the market is packed with different speaker systems, some of which are unique, expensive, smart, powerful, and others are just offering you the basics. At the end of the day, it’s our budget that lowers the options and it is the main criteria that we’d have to cope with. For sure there are awesome affordable models and that’s why we’re here – to help you chose the best option of all.

Judging by statistics, the most wanted speakers for 2017 were Bluetooth ones but if you are not able to spend more than $100 on a set of speakers, then you’re on the right spot. The Dayton Audio MK402 audio system that I’m about to present you is just excellent for the price tag and will give you everything you need. They may not look flashy, but the sound will impress you for sure!

Design and sound

These MK402 speakers are the latest ones released from the company and I can say that they’ll not cost you anything (almost). They are priced at $69, which may be the amount of money you spend on useless stuff every week, so they are worth every single dollar in my opinion.

Getting into the design, I’ve already told you that they don’t offer so much in terms of aesthetics. They look a little bit old, which is not a problem for me, but if you are searching for something flashy you’ll have to spend twice the amount of these. As you’d expect from a speaker with tiny drivers, the cabinets themselves are small: 9.5 inches high, 5.75 inches wide and 6.625 inches deep.

In terms of audio, they offer a 4-inch woofer and 0.75-inch tweeter. Packed into such a case I have to tell you that they’re pretty effective, compact and money worthy! They’d be hard to beat as a competitor at low-cost technology. The 4″ woofer is easily able to play to 60 Hz and still play into the vocal range impressively. The 3/4″ tweeter is capable of producing effortless high frequencies with a wide dispersion.

Should you buy them?

Definitely, they are worth the money, but it is up to you whether you’ll need them or not. If you are searching for a new set of speakers and you don’t want to spend a fortune, then you’ll love these Dayton Audio MK402. There’s much left to be desired in terms of design, bass, looks and etc., but for $69 you will have a hard time finding a better option.
