While some people are using their laptops just to browse the internet and look up things online, or let’s call it the “basic” things, others are dependant on them because most jobs nowadays involve the use of a laptop. If you are a producer or content creator you’ll most definitely need a powerful machine, that could do anything you need on the spot, without hesitation and lag. Not necessarily you will be needing a fast laptop just to use it for work, but you can use it for some powerful games that won’t be able to run on a dual-core processor…right?
That’s exactly when the new line-up of Intel processors will come in handy. The hexa-core processors have been in the mouths of computer geeks a lot recently and it is the right time to talk about them and see why is the Coffee Lake H line-up such a big deal.
What’s the Coffee Lake H?
I slightly shed light on what’s the Coffee Lake H about, but the info was way not enough. Basically, the Coffee Lake H is the newest generation of Intel processors and has six cores that work hella fast. You might also spot them around under the abbreviation CFL-H and in devices that are presented as super-fast and not just laptops, but smartphones and other types of PEDs. For now, you can see them in smartphones but plenty of laptops are expected to be released with the same microchip and chipset technology soon.
The Coffee Lake H line-up has different variations under the number of hexa or quad cores – they may work in all frequencies between 2.0 – 3.5 GHz (normal work) and 4.0 – 4.8 (turbo). While the number of threads, cores and frequency varies, the integrated graphics for now are only one of a kind, being the well-known UHD Graphics 630. This type of processors by Intel have been announced 2 weeks ago and quickly gained popularity. Manufacturers are already highly interested at them and I bet that by the end of the year we’ll witness great technology contributions on the tech market.
Laptops with integrated Coffee Lake H processors?
This is one of the things we should expect, I am telling you… these processors are a step-up of the Kaby Lake series that surely had a big impact on tons of devices last year. Adding a Coffee Lake H processor to a laptop will basically make it 50% faster, and I am nowhere near to lying… Along with Dave Lee, who I thank for the great video, we’ll give you three awesome laptops from last year, that would benefit from the CLF-H line upgrade in 2018 and soon should be out for sale.
Gigabyte Aero 15X
The first laptop that we’re about to discuss is the Aero 15X, which had an Intel i7-7700HQ processor and was highly appreciated by gamers and producers ever since its release. For those who are not familiar, the i7-7700HQ is the highest class processor from the well-known Kaby Lake series from last year. It is a hexa-core processor that works at 2.8 GHz speed and up to 3.8 GHz turbo speed and combined with the rest of the stacked-up hardware made the Aero 15X a beast. With the Nvidia GTX 1070 GDDR5 8GB, RAM storage up to 32GB and one of the best gaming laptop displays, the great addition from Gigabyte quickly gained the needed attention and now will get even better.
By adding the Coffee Lake H to the Aero 15X, the CPU basically will make the laptop 50% faster…doesn’t it sound great? I think that content creators, gamers, producers, and all hard-workers will benefit from this addition and will highly appreciate the upgrade if they decide to go for the new Aero 15X. This is a visual representation of how the new i7-8750H works, comparing it to the i7-7700HQ.
Asus GM501
The second model that will have the i7-8750H will be the GM501 from Asus, which will actually be their first laptop with the new Coffee Lake generation integrated. It is similar to the model that I’ve discussed above and the biggest difference is that it will have more “customizable” options and will enable users to build it to their own preference and purpose of use.
The GM501 is from the famous ROG series and will also have 32GB of RAM storage, Intel HM370 motherboard and 1TB of internal storage, which you could use for your important files, apps, games or whatever you’d like to store on it. All of those components are stored in a thin and beautifully created case, that has it all that a gamer needs. The keyboard and touchpad are also great and feel smooth, so if you are using it for hours per day you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I’m really looking forward to this Asus model and I bet that it will be highly appreciated. If you’d like to get your hands on it you’d better start saving up from now, as the laptop will cost you not less than $1600.
MSI GS65
The third, and in my opinion best of all laptops, that will benefit as well from the Coffee Lake series is the MSI GS65 that has the most beautiful display, design, and specs that you would expect from a gaming laptop. It has Nvidia MAX-Q technology and aesthetics that scream “You want me” and now with the Intel i7-8750H, it will be a “one-of-a-kind” machine. The bad part is that it will cost you around $2000, but when you bear in mind what kind of tech you’re getting for that money you will understand. I wouldn’t suggest you go for a two thousand dollar laptop if you’re gonna use it for facebook, twitter, YouTube or etc., because then it wouldn’t be worth the money. On the other hand, if you are going to use it in order to increase your workflow, then you should definitely go for it!
The MSI GS65, as I’ve already said, has one of the best looks that I have seen in a laptop. It the beautifully created case it will store a 16GBs of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Of course, you can opt out for an upgrade, but I think that those stock numbers will give you a playing field big enough to express all your ideas and share them with ease. The MAX-Q graphics with 8GB capacity will work great with the 3.9GHz processor and will present everything in an awesome way on the 15″ full HD bezel-less display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Moreover, the laptop enables you to connect to it whatever you’d like with ease, as it has all the needed ports. If you need a bigger screen you can easily attach a 4K TV to it and start working on it instead of the 15″ display. In other words, you can do whatever you’d like and however you’d like on this “Stealth” machine.
All of the mentioned laptops above are great, but a bit pricey. If you are ready to invest money into your work, then this is the right way to do it and you won’t make a mistake if you go for one of these options. With such good numbers and technology, I think that it is a good way to start the Coffee Lake H series and I think that those three models are setting the bar up, so rivals would try their best to compete and I am sure that this will bring up some more incredible ideas.
It is a tendency that each year we get a new generation of processors and I am already anxious to see what we will witness in 2018 and 2019. I am sure that we will witness some crazy technology in near future, as the pace of development is faster than the speed of sound. Until a couple of months we considered the Kaby Lake H processors as something huge and non-beatable, and now we’re seeing computers that will be 50% better… I love how the game goes and I bet that by 2020 we’ll witness huge things!
