Samsung, which is one of the leading companies on the technology market for years, recently released their latest Notebook 9 laptop and it is extremely light and supportive in anything you perform on it. It weighs only 1.9 pounds and is extremely comfortable to carry around, which means that it’ll support you in your work, studies or light gaming everywhere!
The Full HD display, power performance, extended battery life, ergonomics, and security are all features, that add to the incredibly nice final result of the Notebook 9. It is really easy to use and is made to optimise to the max your working abilities on it. That’s why the SideSync is also a feature of it, and you can answer calls, respond to texts and get phone notifications in real time right on your laptop screen.
Design
The design of the Notebook 9 is made similar to the way how Samsung build its phones – light, bezel-less, clean and simple, easy to handle and ergonomic. The screen-size and presentation are maximized with the forged metal frame that is really thin and premium-looking. All this, combined with the incredible feeling of the keyboard and the huge touchpad let you work easily anywhere from sunup to sundown thanks to automatic backlighting in dark or dim lighting.
The laptop is 2.35″ x 8.6″ x 0.53″ big with a 13.3-inch LED screen and the maximum weight of 1.7kg. All these features combined make it perfect to carry around and use it at any place you want. The screen is as color-rich as any of Samsung’s smartphone displays, making the absolute most of its comparatively just-satisfactory resolution of 1080p. Samsung also calls this a RealView display, able to shine at 350 nits brightness in normal mode and up to 450 nits in outdoor mode.It is also capable of turning to 180 degrees because of the specially designed hinges, that let you share your views easily.

On the back lid, the laptop is really plain and simple looking, with only the Samsung logo on the left-middle side. The aim to make it the thinnest, maybe was an obstacle for the engineers when they had to decide where to put the ports on this laptop and I have to say that they did a great job! On the left side, there is a small place where we’ve got a full-size mounted USB connection, along with a headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a Mini DisplayPort. Over on the right, you’ll find another USB port, along with a full-size HDMI socket and a microSD card reader.
Hardware, specs, and performance.
On the outside, it is a simple and clean looking laptop that has been made to suit you only for work at the office, but that’s most definitely not the case. Inside it’s a perfectly performing machine, for any task you want to perform on it. Great for watching movies, editing pictures and using power-requiring softwares, engineering, and programming or any other business or studying activity you have to do.
It projects perfectly on the LED screen with 1920×1080 pixel resolution, with the help of integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 and 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7500U clocked at 2.7GHz, turbo boostable to 3.5GHz. One of the few cons that I can see is that it’s only 256GB, but we have to note that it supports a micro SD slot, which is a rarity for devices this thin.
The battery life of the laptop is also not really supportive and will not be with you all day because it lasts averagely 5 1/2 hours. The battery used inside is 2 cells / Li-Ion at 4000mAh and takes really shortly to charge but the fact that you have to charge it, kind of limits your productivity. That’s the price you have to pay for a think laptop though.
Overall, the laptop is incredibly compact, light and well performing but the price of $1,200 is a little bit too much. It is a high-class laptop for sure, but it could’ve been at least a hundred or two lower.
