LG V30 – The Super Slim And Powerful Smartphone

Recently, from LG announced the release of their newest smartphone – The LG V30. It is a phone that does not fall back to any of the top-selling devices right now. The design and performance are beyond limits, as well as the quality of both of the cameras. The phone is perfect for daily usage, work, gaming and literally anything you think of.The design is incredibly pure and clean, while the hardware is a beast of its own, that sets a huge playground for anything that’s performed on it and the whole software operates on Android 7.1.2. The phone has only one version with 64GB internal storage, that’s upgradable up to 256GB with a memory SD.

LG finally decided to stop playing around with gimmicks and made the best phone they possibly could. The LG V30 has almost nothing in common with the V Series phones that have come before it.The metal back and giant chins have been replaced with glass and slim bezels.

Design

The way how the V30 looks, is a combination of the two previous models – V10 and v20.  On the front, there are no buttons, only a big 6.0-inch screen with 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution. The second screen has been removed in this model but the main one is big enough for two. The P-OLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors presents the picture in high quality and the almost complete removal of the bezel adds to the presentation.

Moving on to the sides on the V30 I have to say that they are really smooth and round, which adds to the feel while you are handling and operating the device. It’s incredibly ergonomic and weighs only 153g and the only buttons it has are for power/unlock and volume on the sides. The audio jack has been moved to the top, which I personally find a little bit uncomfortable, but at least there is one, contrary to the thousand dollars iPhone.

The back of the phone is all glass, which might make the phone slippery, so you have to be careful while operating on it. I really like the way it looks with the fingerprint in the middle, which is great for right-handers to use for unlocking and the dual 16MP camera above it. The v30 logo is located right in the center of the back, and the LG is 3 inches underneath – at the bottom.

Performance, specs, and screen

From LG tried and did their best to create the hardest competitor on the market, and they surely did well. The smartphone comes with 64GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and has another version called V30+, that has 128GB internal and 4GB RAM storage. Both versions have micro SD compatibility up to 256GB. The processor that does everything quickly is Snapdragon 835 with Andreno 540 GPU and the software used is the latest Android Android 7.1.2.

LG has put a 3,300mAh battery in the V30, but this time around it’s not removable. For most buyers, however, it won’t matter, especially because LG has added wireless charging and IP68 water resistance in its place. The battery life of the V30 will support you throughout the day and you’ll surely have to charge it while sleeping, like pretty much every Android phone.

Note that the phone charges wirelessly

Apart from other big companies like Google and Apple, from LG tried to keep and enhance the 3.5mm headphone jack, which I find incredibly cool. They added a 32-bit advanced Quad DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) into the V30, which used with Bluetooth headphones will not make a difference, but wait until you plug-in a wired pair of headphones – the sound will most definitely amaze you! I love that move from LG and I think that it’s rivals from Google and Apple should do the same thing and not dump off the legendary jack, that has been with us since ages.

Camera

The dual-camera has 16MP lens with a 13MP camera and I have to say that the pictures it takes are profound! It takes bright and vivid shots and performs well in low-light spaces as well. Smartphones like Google’s Pixel and Samsung’s Note 8 are better at taking pictures at extreme darkness and the auto-focus on this one is not as good as the already said models in terms of locking-on to the moment and capturing it clearly and without any blur.

The HDR videos it could record can be up to 2160p at 30fps and it is good for any occasion. Apart from the main camera, the front one is only 5MP and it could’ve been at least 8MP but it still works fine for video-calls and selfies. The camera on this model is not as good as the iPhone X, Note 8 or Google Pixel 2 but it does not mean that it’s not good at all! It actually is perfect but if you are a perfectionist at catching the exact photo moment, you’d better grab another model.
