Nokia 8 – The Latest Nokia Come-Up

The long-awaited Nokia 8 has been recently released and offers exactly what’s been expected by fans. The company has the history and has taken the biggest part in smartphones evolution. It’s the best at offering powerful hardware, durability, and all-in-one combined into a simple looking design that’s just familiar with the style of Nokia.

It’s a nice addition to the series, since the new start of the company’s sales in the smartphone business the last couple of years. The Nokia 8 is also the main flagship phone, that’s been made to compete with the rivals from other companies at an affordable price and more than excellent performance offered. It is valued at 600 Euro, which is good for such a device. Packing an Octa-core processor and operating on Android 7.1.1 OS, the device delivers quick response and incredible presentation quality on a 16 million-color LCD display, that’s comparatively small to other top-notch phones. I personally love the compact size because its easy to fit it in your pocket – the hardware does the rest and support you wherever you go.

Design

Nokia’s known to the public with not so extravagant but highly efficient designs. I was hoping that with their new beginning they won’t change that and continue to stick with this concept, and they surely did! However, it’s hard to say that it is not extravagant but to be more accurate, it’s less good-looking compared to its rivals. Its still looking beautiful and feels compact due to the 5.3 inches display and dimensions of 151.5 x 73.7 x 7.9 mm and only 160g weight.

On the front, aside from the almost bezel-less display on the sides, it has a powerful and highly capable 13 MP camera, that could work simultaneously with the rear one. This is a new way to “Share both sides of the story”, which is the actual slogan used for marketing the phone and is really nice and innovative. It allows you to take double selfies with your bestie at almost the same picture quality, captured by both front and rear Carl Zeiss optics. The iconic Nokia logo is located at the top right corner and the only button is the home one, that’s actually hard to be called a button because it’s more of a sensor. A capacitive back and app-switching buttons are also located on the left and right side of the home one.

The backside has just the familiar to us Nokia style that always reminds me of where it all started – the Lumia. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the positioning of the dual-camera that’s reminding me of the first Lumia phones that had that “island” but back then there were no dual-cameras, just ordinary 5MP ones.

Specs, performance, and camera

The hardware packed inside is really powerful and due to the huge specs numbers, it performs perfectly! It has an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 clocked up at 2.5GHz, backed up by Adreno 540 GPU all of which is driven by an Android 7.1.1 OS that’ll later upgrade up to Android 8.0 Oreo. With 128 GB and 64GB versions of internal storage, you could choose one by your preference and it surely will affect the price. The RAM storage is also 4GB (for 64GB) and 6GB (for 128GB) and is more than enough.

Talking about the performance, I have to point out that it’s highly loved among fans because of one major aspect – its quickness and the smooth way of running apps and different features. It is good not only for browsing or relaxing but for gaming as well. It offers a micro SD slot so you could upgrade its memory in order to store more games, movies or other hobbies and watch them whenever/wherever you happen to want. The battery used inside is capable enough to ensure a day-lasting capacity at high-level usage. It’s a non-removable, Li-Ion 3090 mAh battery! Check out the following stats comparison, so you can get an idea where the Nokia 8 is being positioned among the rest of the leading models out there right now, in terms of core performance.

Picture lovers will most definitely enjoy the way how both cameras had been designed. They could work on their own, so you could concentrate on your way of view but if you decide to share a momentary-captured selfie, all you have to do is to start the innovative Dual-Sight mode that splits your screen in two. One of the screen sides is for the person who stays in front of the rear camera (back facing him) and the other is a view of the man behind the front camera (display facing him). Both take shots at 13MP, with both color and monochrome sensors, plus a wide-angle 13 MP phase detection auto-focus front camera. Both front and rear cameras are equipped with ZEISS optics, meaning every snapshot moment will not only look spectacular but will remain an eternal memory captured at the highest level offered.
