5 Reasons Headphones Are Better Than Earphones

Plenty of earphones were released lately, but are they better than headphones? According to Lewis, from Unbox Therapy, the answer is no, and I can’t disagree with him. In a demonstration of the HiFiMAN HE-350 headphones, he gives us 5 argumentative reasons on why headphones are better than the small earphones.

He’s offering us the in-depth video, with really reasonable statements that’ll be helpful to each and everyone who’s searching for a new headset that’ll give them the best performance possible. Be sure you check the video and the article below, before you go ahead with a choice that you might regret in future.

Reason One.

Drivers are the number one reason that should make you chose headphones over earbuds. The drivers on the model that’s being reviewed are featuring 50-millimeter drivers, that assure a better listening experience, pure and louder sound, acoustics and wider frequency rate reproduction. In no way, an earbud could beat a headphone driver, as it’s bigger and more comfortable, which is closely related to the following reason.

Reason Two.

Reason two is close to the previous one and it is actually the longer listening sessions that you can experience with a headphone set. They are not as lightweight as earbuds because logically the materials used are way heavier, but this doesn’t mean that they don’t feel way more comfortable while wearing. The reviewed model, similarly to others, has an adjustable design, so you can set it to be tight or loose, depending on your current movements.

Reason Three.

Soundstage is the third aspect that headphones overpower earbuds in. What Lewis means is that they create more life-like and vivid sound experience, due to the open-ear technology used in the HiFiMAN HE-350. It is a commonly seen design technology, that gives the user a feel of sound coming from a further distance and it actually throws you in an environment where the sound is taking control of everything. It’s hard to have an open-ear design with such purity of sound and wide range frequency provided.

Reason Four.

The fourth reason, the biggest one in my opinion, is the home-system usage. If you’ve already spent a fortune on a high-class and cutting-edge home system, your set will look funny with a pair of earbuds. Not only will headphones offer you better looks and performance, but their main reason for creating is exactly this. Engineers are putting their best to lift the bar up and make eadphones sound amazing when connected to a home system, or technology related to music production. Also, if you are not the only user at home you’ll put away with hygiene issues that come with earbuds, as they are simply created to be used by only one person.

Reason Five.

The fifth and last reason that’s discussed in this review is the performance headphones offer while gaming. If you’re familiar with the gaming world, then you probably know that sound plays an essential part while in-game. Not only it enhances the experience and creates the game more fun because it dives you directly into the concept, but it helps you in different situations.

In an example, if you are playing Counter-Strike Global Offensive you’d probably want to know where your enemy’s coming from and you’ll pay attention to footsteps noise. If you don’t do so and your headset isn’t offering you what you need in this case, then you might get killed easily in a situation that may be crucial for the final result of the match.

Movie-watching is also a part of this reason, and similarly to gaming, it orientates the user where the sound’s coming from and your brain will identify the location of the sound, which helps with the understanding of different movie-scenes.
